  • Aug 10, 2014 7:30pm GMT

The Keck Institute for Space Studies and The Planetary Society are holding a public lecture in the Ramo Auditorium at the California Institute of Technology on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 8pm.

Dr. Stanley Love, NASA Astronaut and Asteroid Scientist, will be lecturing on “Near-Earth Asteroids: Stepping Stones to an Interplanetary Civilization.”

It is believed that asteroid impacts – although threatening to life and property – may be prevented through search and deflection technologies. Dr. Love will be providing insight into these technologies and discussing exciting new mission opportunities, including the Asteroid Redirect Mission currently under study at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

No registration or tickets are required and parking is free. Seating is on a first-come first-served basis.
