Want To Build Rockets in Long Beach? Galactic Career Fair This Saturday
Virgin Galactic is hiring 100 people to work on SpaceShipTwo in Mojave, and LauncherOne in Long Beach. If you have ever dreamed of being a part of something that not only flies, but breaks the sound barrier and leaves Earth's atmosphere, then come on down to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the new Virgin Galactic facility in Long Beach at 8:30 a.m. and the Career Fair they are hosting from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
The new 150,000 sq ft Long Beach facility, announced February 12th, will be the home of the Virgin Galactic LauncherOne team. They are building a new two-stage orbital launch vehicle specifically to launch satellites that weigh 500 pounds (225 kilograms) or less. The system, which like SpaceShipTwo is launched from WhiteKnight, allows small users to avoid crowded and expensive launch ranges. More information about this program can be found at on the Virgin Galactic LauncherOne page.
The address of the facility and event is 4022 E. Conant St, Long Beach, CA, 90806 (in Douglas Park at the Long Beach Airport). You can read more or RSVP at http://www.virgingalactic.com/latest-news/.
