BREAKING: Antares Rocket Explodes on Pad

Orbital Sciences' Antares Rocket, scheduled to launch at 6:22 PM EDT from Wallops Island, Virginia, exploded on the launch pad. The explosion caused a large fireball.

The rocket was scheduled to carry 5,000 pounds of supplies to the International Space Station.

Orbital Sciences has not yet released an official statement about the failure of the rocket.

"There was failure on launch," NASA spokesman Jay Bolden said. "There was no indicated loss of life.

Bolden added, "There was significant property and vehicle damage. Mission control is trying to assess what went wrong."
