Doc's Engines Roar to Life

After 15 years and more than 300,000 volunteer hours, all four engines on the magnificent B-29 Superfortress known as "Doc" roared to life on the tarmac at Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Kansas.

Tony Mazzolini, who discovered the abandoned warbird in the desert of the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station bombing range was on hand to witness the milestone moment.

Watch the full video of the successful start up and test below from Doc's Friends; the restoration group who expects Doc to fly in the next few months.

"Doc" will join "FIFI" as one of the only two flying WWII bombers in the world.
