My First AirVenture. The Museum
EAA Museum. With a collection of more than 200 historic airplanes, the EAA AirVenture Museum combines the passion of aviation's past with the promise of its exciting future. The heart and soul of any good museum is its collection and this collection is outstanding, even with its Eagle Hangar empty and the World War Two aircraft outside to make room for tonight's tribute to Paul Poberezny and Thursday's Young Eagles Gala.
The EAA Air Museum was founded in 1962 when Steve Wittman donated his famous air racer “Bonzo†and now boasts over 20,000 historic aviation objects. Pioneers of flight, warbirds, homebuilts, antiques, air racers, aerobatics, air show legends, innovators and those reaching for the stars are all honoured here. A must see at AirVenture or any other time you're in Oshkosh but if you can't visit take a two minute walk through with me below and watch history take flight.
