Sixty of the best aerobatic pilots in the world gathered at Chateauroux. The last time France hosted the FAI World Aerobatic Championships in the Unlimited category, the most difficult aerobatic competition, was in 2000. This year, Team France defended its four titles at home and won Gold Medals in general rankings, team rankings, individual male and individual female categories at the 28th World Aerobatics Championships. After ten days of a particularly challenging competition French pilot Capitaine Alexandre Orlowski (FR) is the new World Champion. The French female pilot Aude Lemordant also takes gold in women’s competition. She finishes fifth in general rankings, just behind Capitaine François Rallet (FR), Castor Fantoba (Spanish), Mikhail Mamistov (Russian) and Gerald Cooper (English).
