US National Aerobatic Championships Set for September in Texas

The US National Aerobatic Championships are slated to run September 22-28, 2013, in Denison, Texas. The North Texas Regional Airport (KGYI) will host the week-long competition.

Aerobatic pilots compete in a variety of categories based on their particular skill set, including: Primary, Sport, Intermediate, Advanced and Unlimited categories. The competition is open to both glider and powered aircraft.

In 2012, Rob Holland took top honors in the Unlimited Power category flying his MXS, followed by Goody Thomas in his Extra 330SC and Michael Racy in his Sukhoi SU31, respectively.

The annual contest is organized by the International Aerobatic Club, a pision of EAA.
