Microburst Hammers Chandler Airport
Residents in the Phoenix area were hit with severe storms Tuesday morning. Arizona state officials say many were left without power and at the height of the storm, approximately 30 inbound flights were diverted to other airports to wait out the weather. At nearby Chandler Municipal Airport more than 30 planes were tossed around by the 60 mile per hour plus winds. The National Weather Service said there likely was a microburst in the area.
