UPDATED: Plane Lands on Man Mowing Lawn
In one of the stranger stories, a plane severed a man's left hand when it landed on him while he was mowing the grass in Taylorsville, North Carolina.
The pilot, 84-year old Edward Sisson, flew from Tennessee for a family gathering in Taylorsville when he collided with 74-year old John Rufty who was mowing the grass landing strip.
Local authorities said the pilot didn't see the riding mower until it was too late.
The Rufty is in critical condition at a local hospital. Sisson walked without injury even though the plane flipped over on impact.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating the accident.
