Baggage is never missing, every seat is business-class and your cocktail will be delivered before takeoff which is always on time. Such is the life of the travelling NHL player.

The Chicago Blackhawks have chartered a Swift Air Boeing 767-200 and the Tampa Bay Lightning will use a Miami Air Boeing 737 to shuttle between cities during the Stanley Cup Playoffs which start tonite. Like most teams they use charter services although a few of the 30 NHL franchises have owned jets, namely the Blue Jackets, Red Wings, Rangers and Coyotes. (see photos below)

Miami Air handles 10 teams, Swift Air 4, NorthWest 1 and while the Canadian teams have all been eliminated this season, Air Canada dominates the NHL's Canadian market and will for some time. Jetz recently won a nice six-year contract with six of Canada's NHL teams. Air Canada Jetz is the airline's in-house, all-Premium Class charter service operated by their mainline pilots and flight attendants.

"Air Canada is proud to have been drafted for this role by six of Canada's top pro teams. These agreements reflect the fact that the teams recognize not only Air Canada's reliability but also the superior service offered by Jetz, with such amenities as all-Premium Class seating, dedicated mainline Air Canada crews offering specialized service, in-flight Wifi and the many other benefits enjoyed by Air Canada premium customers. Hockey is Canada's game and as Canada's flag carrier we are pleased to be carrying Canada's best professional teams," said Benjamin Smith, President of Passenger Airlines at Air Canada.

The six-year NHL agreements begin at the start of the 2015-16 season and cover the Montreal Canadiens, the Ottawa Senators, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Winnipeg Jets, the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks. In addition to the six Canadian teams, Jetz also provides air transport services to the Colorado Avalanche.

Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Rolling Stones and the Spice Girls have all used Jetz.

Air Canada Jetz uses Airbus A319 aircraft outfitted with 58-Italian leather Premium Class seats offering a luxurious seat pitch with extra legroom and a private jet-like experience. (see pictures below) as well as two tables. Air Canada's Jetz clients are able to board either through public airport or move through private terminals (FBO) without the attention of public exposure. Special boarding areas away from public terminals are available upon request with convenient parking close by. Each charter plane comes with its own on-board mechanic as well.

Meals as well as complimentary bar and beverage service are included.
