NEW DETAILS: Mid Air Explosion On Somali Flight Update!
New details have been released since the Mid air explosion on Tuesday, February 2nd. According to CNN there was one passenger sucked out of the plane during the Mid air explosion of the Somali Daallo Airlines flight from Mogadishu. The passenger has been confirmed as Abdullahi Abdisalam Borleh. Borleh's body was discovered in the Balcad area of Somalia, north of Mogadishu and has now been identified as the suspect who carried a laptop bomb on board the aircraft.
Just released today in a video made public by officials, CNN reports, "One airport worker takes the laptop and hands it to another employee. The employees then hand it over to Borleh who was killed when the laptop explosion blew a hole in the plane's fuselage, said Abdisalam Aato, a spokesman for the Somali Prime Minister." Both workers have been arrested.
The plane was delayed for one hour taking off and CNN reports if there was a timed bomb to go off or timing device set then the flight then the outcome could have been different since it exploded between 12,000 to 14,000 ft. Sources say this was a well thought out plan and could have been more catastrophic if the bomb had gone off at a higher cruising altitude. The bomber knew where to sit and maximize the damage if the explosion set off a chain reaction with the center fuel tank. The bomb contained military grade TNT residue. For more details visit CNN.
