Last Thursday I had the chance to visit GE Aviation, right outside of Cincinnati, OH. Before this visit, when I thought of GE, I thought of light bulbs and refrigerators. Little did I know, that GE is one of the major players in aircraft engines and has been since the World War II. GE Aviation generates about $20 Billion a year in annual revenue from building and maintaining engines for commercial, business, and military aviation. The GE Aviation Learning Center (which is basically a museum to their aviation heritage) is open to the public (with a GE host), and if you like turbine engines is a pretty cool place to visit.
