World Record Paper Airplane Throw
Did you know the longest flight for a paper airplane stands at 226ft 10in? A contest was held on February 29th, 2012 in the former Fry's Electronics hangar at McClellan Air Force Base near Sacramento, where Joe Ayoob's throw shattered the previous world record of 207ft, 4in (63m)
The aircraft thrown was designed by John Collins, who has designed airplanes for many years, the paper plane was made from 100gsm, A4 paper and a very small piece of sticky tape.
"I grew up making paper airplanes," Joe Ayoob told ESPN. "I used to make paper airplanes and throw them all the way home from school when I was little. So it was kind of up my alley. I thought it was a cool idea."
The record still stands today.
