FIDAE 2016 Air & Space Fair: A350 XWB Demo
The International Air & Space Fair, FIDAE 2016, Latin America's largest airshow is underway. For more than thirty-five years the main representatives of civil-commercial aviation, defence, aircraft maintenance, airport equipment & services, homeland security and space technology have gathered in Chile.
It began 1980, in El Bosque Air Base to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Chilean Air Force. A show that featured 32 exhibitors from thirteen countries and attended by 115,000 people.
From 1990, FIDA moved to Los Cerrillos Airdrome and changed its name into International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE), to commemorated the “International Year of the Space”. With its continuous growth, in 2006, FIDAE moved to the north side of the Arturo Merino Benitez Airport where it is now taking place.
The mission now is to "plan, organize and execute biennially an exhibition of international level, intended to foster the development of the aerospace, defence and security industry; that provides opportunities of technological and commercial exchange between the participating organizations, and generates an utmost aeronautical consciousness within the national community” the organization says in a statement on their website.
