Gilze-Rijen Air Force Days
Aviation speaks many languages and air shows share the same cross-cultural appeal. People sharing their pride in their country, their military and love of flight.
The air show at Gilze-Rijen captured all those elements into an incredible two day event attracting more than 200,000 people according to event organizers.
The British Red Arrows headlined the weekend, but it also showcased several military demonstrations including a tribute to the Battle of Britain with a Lancaster escorted by two Spitfires.
The cargo bay of a C-130 was also the unique classroom for more than 40 select students who attended classes to learn more about their country's Air Force.
A brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner made an appearance along with a soon to be retired KLM MD-11. The latter carried special cargo; dozens of terminally ill children who enjoyed a special day.
