35th California International Airshow - Pictures!
It's rare for an airshow to achieve thirty-five years of successful fund-raising and family entertainment, but the California International Airshow in Salinas has done just that.
In celebration of raising $8 million for local charities, the Salinas Municipal Airport kicked off another show welcoming the Canadian Forces CF-18, the long-missed C-5 Galaxy and for the first time ever, the local skies were filled with the roar of the amazing USAF F-22 Raptor. Additional acts include Greg Colyer and his T-33, Jacquie Warda, the Patriots Jet Team, warbirds like the B-25, T-6, P-51, Corsair, and P-38 including the incredible Heritage Flight, Skydive Monterey Bay and airshow newcomer, Yuichi Takagi. On the ground, be sure to check out Metal Mulisha, Canada's C-90 and the rarely seen USN E-6 Mercury TACAMO aircraft.
The gates open at 9:00 a.m. each morning and the flying will start at 12:00 noon.
