EAA Chairman Jack Pelton declared the 2013 EAA AirVenture a success - touching on seven key objectives during a press conference following the week-long event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

"I couldn't be more proud of the leadership team and feel very confident that if I don't get in their way they'll be able to continue to improve this every year over year," Pelton commented.

Highlights included more than 500,000 guests in attendance, over 10,000 aircraft arriving at the Oshkosh Wittman Regional Airport, 2,335 showplanes and a record setting 831 commercial exhibitors.

Another record was the attendance for the screening of Disney's Planes animated feature movie. Over 15,000 people attended the showing at the Ford Fly-In Theater - which is triple the attendance of any previous movie at the outdoor pavilion.

The 2014 event is slated for July 28th through August 3rd - a year which marks 100th anniversary of the start of World War I and the 75th anniversary of the jet engine.
