"Gigantic transport airplane" aerobatics!
Well, back in the 1930's the Ford Tri-Motor was considered "gigantic"! Still, Harold Johnson shocked crowds as he demonstrated his exceptional pilot skills doing aerobatics in this classic aircraft.
He was an air racer in Cleveland, ferried Hudsons across the Atlantic during the war, and tested the B-24, and P-38 at the Willow Run plant. He later tested, and saved the P2V Sub-Hunter program following a mishap near Edwards.
