"Rocket" Rips Up the Florida Skies
The Melbourne Air and Space Show thrilled thousands with its action packed line up which included the return of the USAF single ship F-16 Demonstration flown by new demo pilot Captain Craig "Rocket" Baker.
After graduating from the Air Force Academy and serving as a flight instructor at Shaw Air Force Base, Baker was selected as the 2015 F-16 Demonstration pilot. Sequestration kept the Viper Demo grounded for two years before the Air Force brought back former Viper East Demo pilot Rider Corrigan to prepare Baker for his inaugural air show season.
"Rocket" also made his Heritage Flight debut at Melbourne flying with the F-22 Raptor, flown by Captain John "Taboo" Cummings and P-51 guru Lee Lauderback in Crazy Horse.
Earlier this year he joined Taboo and the other civilian Heritage Flight Foundation pilots for the annual Heritage Planning and Training Conference at Davis Monthan Air Force Base.
