'Dreadnought' and Cessna Collide Over Bay
Coast Guard crews are still searching for the pilot of a Cessna 210 after a mid-air collision with the Sea Fury racer Dreadnought over San Pablo Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area in California on Sunday.
The planes attended the Pacific Coast Dream Machines event where the Hawker Sea Fury was reportedly one of the featured warbirds.
Both planes are registered to Sanders Aircraft, Inc, which is known for restoring vintage airplanes and is operated by brothers Dennis and Brian Sanders.
The Sea Fury landed safely at its home base at the Eagle's Nest Airport in Ione, CA, nearly 65 nautical miles away from the accident site.
The NTSB and FAA are investigating.
