This Is What Happens When You Tweet Terrorism Jokes
A fourteen year old girl named Sarah (@QueenDemetriax) tweeted American Airlines Sunday. "hello my name's Ibrahim and I'm from Afghanistan. I'm part of Al Qaida and on June 1st I'm gonna do something really big bye"
American Airlines replied shortly after with "Sarah, we take these threats very seriously. Your IP address and details will be forwarded to security and the FBI"
Sarah's Twitter feed had an immediate melt down:
"omfg I was kidding"
"I'm so sorry I'm scared now"
"I was joking and it was my friend not me, take her IP address not mine"
"I was kidding pls don't I'm just a girl pls"
"and I'm not from Afghanistan"
"yeah I know, and my parents are gonna kill me if I tell them this omg pls"
Later she even tweeted how popular her Twitter account had become because of the whole ordeal.
"Wow bc of this I gained 1k followers"
Sarah was arrested by the Dutch police in her home of Rotterdam, the Netherlands today. A spokesperson for the police told Business Insider: We're not in a state that we can communicate any state of charges at this point. We just thought it was necessary to bring this out mostly because of the fact that it caused a great deal of interest on the Internet.
Sarah's Twitter account has been deleted and I assume is probably grounded, in more ways than one...
