Funny Airline Makes Serious Order
Indian budget airline IndiGo has agreed to purchase 250 planes worth nearly $26 billion. India's only profitable carrier and biggest airline is expanding aggressively and has handed Airbus its largest single order of jets. This deal for new A320s extends the Airbus lead over Boeing in the Indian market and could close a worldwide deficit in orders versus its American rival this year. While IndiGo picked Pratt & Whitney engines for its earlier A320 order the airline has not yet selected an engine for these aircraft.
IndiGo markets the company like South West and Canada's WestJet Airlines. They have surprised guests with gifts and take a light approach when advertising as you can see below.
