Dubai Airshow 2013 Readies for Kickoff
The biennial Dubai Airshow gets underway in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday. Manufacturers and suppliers from around the world will descend on Dubai with hopes of catching additional business from the Gulf Arab region.
In 2011, Boeing scored a major win with the landmark order for 50 777-300ER aircraft by Dubai-based Emirates. The book value was approximately $18 billion USD - the largest single order in Boeing's history. The show hosted over 56,000 visitors with over $63 billion USD in orders in 2011.
The 2013 airshow will be located at the new Dubai World Central airport and runs through Thursday.
