  • Mar 13, 2014 4:56pm GMT

Early reports suggest US Airways Flight 1702 suffered an engine fire on the Airbus 320 departing Philadelphia International for Fort Lauderdale and was forced to abort take off. It is still unclear whether the nose gear collapsed as a result of the overrun or if there was an issue with the nose gear that may have contributed to the aborted take off.

All 149 passengers and 5 crew were evacuated safely.

Updates will follow as more information is released.
